-ESCHATOLOGY
OVERVIEW-
PREFACE TO begin this survey, the evident difference in doctrinal interpretations is the stated basis for this Scripture study. It is also understandable that not all modern day theology students will agree with these conclusions: as this is also acceptable. Our intent within these first two sections, is to allow the Bible to interpret the Bible in seeking an understanding that is clear and consistent with all Scripture. Attempting to support all doctrinal understandings with strong scriptural witness.
The primary reasons for the confusion within the today’s Churches, is the frequent use of unsupported Scripture for doctrinal stands: Where we might interject our own or some other persons unsupported ideas and interpretations as reality.
Nevertheless, there is one basic fact that we all should become aware of. That it does not matter precisely what we believe concerning these end time events, as long as our beliefs are first founded on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that through His shed blood we might all be saved. I truly wish that there was a simpler way that we all could understand God's word without these difficult eschatological disagreements.
It would appear that the area that generate the most significant disagreement, would naturally be found in those areas of understanding within the end time Scriptures. Those same Scriptures that formulate the more popular theories in eschatology—The Pre-mill /Pre-trib theory, the Post-mill /Post-trib theory, or the A-mill theory.
In organizing this part of our study, we have attempted to research the different end time understanding’s /or eschatology’s. And we do point out specific areas that appear to be inconsistent with Scripture or in some instances completely out of context. But first and foremost we must always allow the Bible to interpret the Bible that we might learn what is the good and perfect will of God. If we hold a certain doctrinal understanding that lacks complete Scriptural support, we must diligently search the Word of God so that we might find His meaning.
I would like to say that this study was not undertaken to specifically disprove any one doctrinal understanding, nor do we wish to offend any one of our readers, but simply to search God's Word to find His truths.
Our desire is, that this study be enlightening and challenging to those who take the time to read these notes. And if you happen to disagree with any area of this study, as some surely will, we challenge you to open your Bible and Scripturally disprove those portions that you may disagree with.
So as we study the Scriptures for a better understanding of the Kingdom of God, we discovered that this present Kingdom has two parallel states. The Kingdom, in this first state, is in the development or construction stage. Here we see the Kingdom being developed here on earth: Commonly identified as the Church, or the Kingdom of the Son of His love. (Col.1:13-14) During this time period God is calling out a people for Himself, to be His holy nation /or His holy priesthood. Then the parallel Kingdom that is in heaven is always the eternal residence of our Creator God.
Consequently, because of the different eschatological interpretations that are presently being taught, the waters of understanding in this area of theology have become very muddy. But if we look to the Word of God, and let the Bible interpret the Bible, I am convinced we will receive that clearer understanding.
Though it may at first sound strange, but it is factual—our interpretation of the Scriptures dictates how we interpret the Scriptures. Now because of this faulted system that is often used, we must be very careful not to force our own interpretation from the Word of God: One that is not really there. Also, some sound advice for us to follow as we let the Bible interpret the Bible, is not to ignore the situation where our interpretation would conflict with other Scripture. We should always re-examine any and all conflicts we encounter, allowing the Scriptures their compatibility.
The fact that becomes evident to most of us here, is the fact that error is being openly taught in many of today’s institutions of higher learning. Then as a first step solution to this problem, we are all exhorted to be like the Bereans: Who had a readiness to receive the word of God, but examined the Scriptures daily to see whether the things they learned were true. (Acts.17:11) Letting the Bible interpret the Bible. Then finally, it is with Acts.17:11 in mind that we present Section three - RAPPROCHEMENT ESCHATOLOGY for your careful consideration. Amen.
