PART FOUR

AN EXPOSITION OF THE ESCHATOLOGY OF ROMANS

-THE ISRAEL OF GOD-

-PREFACE-

Paul’s Epistle to the Romans is the Scriptural bridge connecting the Old Testament and the New Testament: Confirming to us the unchanging ways of our gracious God.

This presentation, “An Exposition of the Eschatology of Romans”, is a lengthy and difficult study at any level but absolutely necessary for any proper understanding of God’s Covenants and God’s Peoples.  In an effort to more clearly define these difficult theological challenges, for this study I have made extensive use of John Calvin’s Commentary on the EPISTLE TO THE ROMANS.  My sincere hope here, with the comparative examination of these writings from Calvin and other notable theologians, was to point out the specific areas that require additional thought and dialogue.  Though some might accuse me of going beyond the theological norms, I can assure you that I have gone only where the Lord has allowed.  Then I would ask for your patience with what might appear as excessive redundancy throughout this manuscript, as I sincerely believe the difficulty that one will find in the subject matter dictates that repetition.  Finally, I can assure the reader that there are teachings within this manuscript that are not commonly understood or taught by Christian Academia, and my hope is that this study will generate some serious discussion at all levels.

A special note for the reader: We are, throughout these writings, weaving a tapestry that can sustain the intellectual tugging and pulling from all directions.  So after reading these annotations, you will probably see this author as a bizarre heretic or somewhat prophetically imbued.
